Who is sending the messages?

SMS messages branded Furnished Unfurnished: are sent by Malaya Technologies LLC, dba Furnished Unfurnished ("Furnished Unfurnished" / "we" / "us"), the operator of furnishedunfurnished.com. Our registered address is 2 N Central Ave STE 1800, Phoenix, AZ 85004.

The live SMS opt-in controls are inside signed-in Account Settings, so reviewers cannot click through them without an account. This public packet provides direct image/mockup links, the exact unchecked consent copy, the opt-in sequence, frequency disclosure, message/data-rates disclosure, STOP/HELP instructions, and policy links so Twilio and carrier reviewers can verify the call to action without logging in.

How do I opt in?

SMS notifications are off by default. To start receiving them, every user goes through this four-step flow. This is the only SMS opt-in path; there is no keyword opt-in and no prechecked or bundled consent.

  1. Create a free account at furnishedunfurnished.com/signup and verify your email.
  2. Sign in and open Account Settings at furnishedunfurnished.com/account-settings. The first card in the Notifications section is Phone verification.
  3. Enter your U.S. mobile number in E.164 format (e.g. +15551234567), tap Send code, and enter the 6-digit one-time code we text to that number. The OTP confirms you own the number.
  4. On the code-entry screen, you will see an unchecked-by-default consent checkbox. Read the disclosure, check the box, and tap Verify. Then toggle SMS Transactional Notifications on in the SMS Notifications card directly below.

Sign in and open Account Settings

The SMS opt-in controls are available only after account creation and sign-in. This public page shows the same signed-in flow for Twilio and carrier review.

Enter phone number and request OTP

The user enters a U.S. mobile number in E.164 format and clicks Send code. Furnished Unfurnished sends a one-time verification code to prove number ownership.

Enter OTP and affirm SMS consent

The consent checkbox is unchecked by default. The user must check it before clicking Verify; otherwise SMS consent is not recorded.

Enable SMS Transactional Notifications

After phone ownership and consent are recorded, the SMS Transactional Notifications toggle can be enabled or disabled by the user at any time.

SMS Transactional Notifications

Receive transactional SMS from Furnished Unfurnished about your account: new inquiries, message replies, housing-request matches, booking approvals, subscription status, address-change requests, support-ticket replies, and reminders when a tenant is waiting on your reply.

Approximately 5–20 messages per month depending on activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help.

The companion SMS Transactional Notifications toggle directly below the phone-verification card is disabled until your number is verified and the consent box above is checked. Toggling it on writes a separate consent timestamp; toggling it off (or replying STOP) clears both consent records.

What messages do we send?

We send transactional SMS for the following platform events when you have opted in:

  • Inquiry received: A tenant contacted you about one of your listings.
  • Message reply: A new reply landed in one of your conversations.
  • Housing-request match: A new tenant request matches one of your listings.
  • Inquiry approved: A landlord approved your inquiry; next steps are waiting.
  • Subscription paused: A payment issue paused one of your listings.
  • Address change requested: A landlord submitted an address change for review (admin).
  • Support ticket reply: A new reply landed on a support ticket you opened.
  • Inquiry has no reply (24h): Reminder when a tenant is waiting on your response.

We also send a one-time verification code when you set up SMS notifications. The verification code itself is sent before you complete the consent step and is solely for confirming that you own the phone number you provided.

Twilio and carrier reviewers can use these examples to confirm that our campaign message content matches the opt-in flow above. Production SMS bodies identify the brand by its full name, include only first-party furnishedunfurnished.com links, and include STOP opt-out language.

How often will I receive messages?

Approximately 5–20 messages per month depending on activity on your listings, inquiries, and support tickets. Frequency varies; quiet weeks may receive zero messages.

Are there costs?

Furnished Unfurnished does not charge for SMS notifications. However, standard message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier, depending on your plan.

How do I opt out?

Reply STOP to any Furnished Unfurnished SMS. We will:

  • Stop all SMS to your number immediately.
  • Clear your phone-verified status in our system.
  • Send no further SMS to your number until you re-verify it in Account Settings.

You can also disable SMS notifications without opting out at the carrier level by toggling off the SMS Transactional Notifications setting in Account Settings.

How do I get help?

Reply HELP to any Furnished Unfurnished SMS to receive a response with our brand information and support contact. You can also email us at [email protected] or open a ticket from your Help center.

How is my data handled?

We do not share your phone number or your SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information is shared with any third party for marketing.

We deliver SMS through one subprocessor: Twilio Inc. Twilio receives only the recipient phone number and the message body required to send each message. Twilio does not use your phone number or message content for its own marketing. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. SMS service is available only on supported U.S. wireless carriers.
