Furnished Unfurnished is a mid-term rental platform that connects property hosts with guests who need housing by the month. We’re a lead generation service: hosts list their properties and guests send inquiries, then they work out the details directly.
Built by Malaya Technologies LLC and currently in active development, growing our inventory of verified listings across the United States.
Why we’re building this
The existing mid-term rental space is fragmented. Short-term platforms charge nightly rates and take large booking fees. Long-term lease platforms require credit checks and 12-month commitments. Neither serves the tenant who needs a furnished apartment for three months while they complete a travel nursing assignment or wait for their new home to close.
We’re rebuilding the platform from the ground up on a unified TypeScript stack — web and mobile sharing the same codebase — so we can iterate fast and keep the experience consistent. Our goal is to be the direct connection layer between hosts and mid-term tenants, with no middleman taking a cut of the rent.

How it works
Host lists a property
Landlords create a listing with photos, pricing, and availability. Each listing goes through a human review before it goes live.
Guest browses and inquires
Tenants search by city, budget, and move-in date. When they find a match, they send an inquiry directly to the host.
They connect directly
Host and guest communicate, agree on terms, and execute a lease directly with each other. We facilitate the introduction — not the transaction.
What makes us different
No booking fees — because we are not a booking platform. Hosts pay a flat monthly subscription per listing ($9.99/mo or $79.99/yr). Guests pay nothing.
Direct host-guest communication built in. No intermediary relaying messages or adding delays.
Monthly-and-up focus. We are not a vacation rental site. Every listing targets stays of 30 days or longer.
Human review of each listing. Our admin team reviews every new listing before it goes public, so guests see only real, accurate properties.
No cuts from rent. We do not hold security deposits, process payments between parties, or take any percentage of what a tenant pays a host.
